Here, the specific degree earned is less relevant than the significance of the work and the nominee’s achievement as a role model for others in the field.

The nomination package should show:
1. The uniqueness of the nominee’s achievements
2. The discipline required achieving the nominee’s level of performance
3. The nominee’s triumph over obstacles in the field
4. The nominee’s potential as a role model for younger professionals or students

The following professions will be recognized:

• Information Technologist - Nominees who specialize in the IT industry in the public or private sector and have made significant contributions in their field.
• Engineer - Nominees who specialize in the engineering field in the public or private sector and have made significant contributions in their field.
• Scientist - Nominees who specialize in the scientific field in the public or private sector and have made significant contributions in their field.

The nominee is beyond the midpoint (approximately 22-plus years in the work force) of his or her career and has made significant achievements in engineering titles in industry or government. The committee looks less at the degrees earned than at the body of work produced by the nominee, its broad, social and economic value and impact, and the nominee’s performance as a role model and mentor for APIA in technology.

The nominee package should show:
1. The uniqueness of the nominee’s obtained goal
2. The discipline required to achieve the nominee’s level of performance
3. The nominee’s triumph over obstacles in the field
4. The nominee’s potential as a role model for youth

The following professions will be recognized:

• Information Technologist - Nominees who specialize in the IT industry in the public or private sector and have made significant contributions in their field.
• Engineer - Nominees who specialize in the engineering field in the public or private sector and have made significant contributions in their field.
• Scientist - Nominees who specialize in the scientific field in the public or private sector and have made significant contributions in their field.

A person who has served or is serving in a leadership capacity in the company’s Asian Pacific Islander (API) employee resource group or equivalent (ERG). The overall impact of their invovlement and leadership on the advancing the mission of the ERG and influencing the company’s support for their API employees are the prime considerations. The committee sees a nominee that offers broad impact and high value to company and APIs as a whole.

The nomination package should show:
1. The leadership and management qualities
2. The innovation of new programs or expanded engagement
3. The impact on the API employees
4. The influence on the company
5. The mentoring and guidance of future ERG leaders

A person who is a seasoned professional with 10+ years of professional experience in their field. The nominees should hold executive-level management positions. Nominees must demonstrate an active leadership role within their organization. The nominee's must demonstrates consistent dedication and commitment to the growth and advancement of engineering and science by his/her engagement and contributions to SASE and/or the Asian American community.

The nomination package should show:

2. The nominee's leadership and management qualities
3. The nominee's impact on employees
4. The nominee's influence on the company and community
5. The demonstratation of strategic thinking

A person of any level of professional experience that is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and the advancement of AAPI professionals. The nominee may be an individual of any race, including those who are and are not of Asian American heritage. The nominee must demonstrate how he/she mentors and/or sponsors AAPI professionals.

The nomination package should show:

2. The nominee's impact on diversity and inclusion efforts
3. The nominee's influence on the company and/or community
4. The nominee's potential as a role model for the community

A person of any level of professional experience that has made significant and measurable contributions to their community through volunteerism. The nominee must exemplify inspirational leadership and initiative through teaching, coaching, organizing, and serving on boards and committees or other leadership roles within the community. The nominee demonstrates support, advocacy, and service that meets the needs of diverse populations with a focus on the AAPI community.
