TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROJECT.
Our product is a sense-able scale that combines embedded micro-sale force-sensors and a camera-enabled with object-recognition technology. It provides users with information about the type of food you're storing and how much of it you have. The scale comes in the form of a film, which can be applied to any surface and is easily cleaned. The data is collected via Wi-Fi, making the information conveniently accessible on the Cloud! The sense-able scale can be purchased as an after-market add-on for refrigerators and pantries.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO SOLVE THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM?
Scientists and engineers worldwide strive to find solutions for our finite resources, including natural gas and clean water. However, we noticed there is not a strong focus on one of the most basic human needs — food. In the United States alone, 360+ million pounds of food is wasted every day. We both enjoy food, and we found it distressing to learn that food waste is a dominant problem on a global scale. We wanted to try our best to tackle a problem that we're both passionate about and to see the positive impact we can create.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT THE FINAL ROUND?
We think one of the most valuable experiences from this event will be getting to network with other fellow entrepreneurs and share each other's ideas. We're most excited about checking out the problems the other Finalists are trying to solve, as well as the solutions they ideated. As much as it is a competition, SASEtank is also about working together to create better solutions for our everyday problems. In the end, all of our lives will become better.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST NERVOUS ABOUT FOR THE FINAL ROUND?

DID YOU THINK YOU WOULD MAKE IT THIS FAR IN THE COMPETITION?
We definitely did not! We simply had a great idea that solves a very important problem, and it happened to have little competition within the market space. We definitely aimed to try our best and we knew our project had potential, but our expectations weren't set very high.
