THOMAS FERNANDEZ
Thomas Fernandez, Final Round Judge 2018
Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Minority Business Accelerator
Tom is 1 of 5 Final Round Judges for the 2018 SASEtank competition. He is the Director of the Cincinnati Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator. He is also the Co-Founder of SASE, currently serving as the Secretary on the Board of Directors. When he’s not working, he enjoys watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, drinking French wine, and spending time with his family.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOB.
The Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce’s Minority Business Accelerator is one of the nation’s premier accelerator programs, and I’ve worked here for three years. We are dedicated to expediting the growth and development of sizable African-American and Hispanic owned businesses. As a coach, my goal is to add $1 Billion in new sales for each business within the next five years.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING?
I’m a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and tennis. I indulge in French wine. I’m also very close with my wife of 28 years and our daughters, Josephine and Samantha.

WHY ARE YOU SERVING AS A FINAL ROUND JUDGE?
The methodologies utilized by the Minority Accelerator are a perfect fit for SASEtank. In addition, as a member of the Board of Directors, I believe that SASE should expand to systematically develop entrepreneurs. This way, we can complement the organization’s current corporate employment opportunities.

WHY SHOULD STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS ATTEND THE FINAL ROUND AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE?
SASEtank serves as an incubator for members within the SASE community. Participants are provided a highly supportive environment in which they are able to learn and grow. You never know -- SASEtank could produce the next Instant Pot!
