Building the Future
Want to know how your contribution will support us as we continue to build the future for our members and communities? This page will provide you with an idea of the course we are charting and the most critical programs to the SASE mission over the next ten years. We invite you to explore the values, principles, and priorities that guide our initiatives and learn how together, we can continue to make a lasting impact and grow the leaders of tomorrow.
Our collegiate chapters and members are the backbone of SASE. Every day, we are proud to provide value to thousands of college students across the United States and we happily welcome bright new members to the #SASEfam each year. Our collegiate chapters strive to hold quality programming for their members ranging from professional networking events, leadership workshops, high school and community service outreach programs, mentorship services, academic help, cultural exposure, to much, much more. Your support empowers both our best and brightest chapters as well as our newest, youngest chapters to push themselves higher than ever before. SASE has set a target of 200 vibrant collegiate chapters by its 20th anniversary.
SASE Jr are junior chapters run by high school students with support from their local collegiate chapters. The goal of the initiative is to promote professional and leadership development to high school students and bring STEM to high school classes where it's most needed. Funding helps SASE Jr chapters run workshops and educational activities, purchase materials, and organize service learning activities that make a positive impact on their local communities. Funding also supports travel for high school students to attend regional and national conferences, at times their first time ever attending a professional conference. We intend to form 15 SASE Jr chapters in the next 5 years.
The Pro branch of SASE takes form in a national network of professionals complementing chapters situated in major cities around the country. These professional chapters and networks convene to hold quality programming that benefit both young and seasoned professionals as well as to introduce local professionals to the wider communities within their cities. Funding for SASE Pro goes towards bolstering fresh chapters starting out in new locations.
SASE National Conference and STEM Career Fair
The SASE National Conference continues to be the pre-eminent space for AAPI students and professionals to grow professionally and form a nationwide network. In 2017, registration for the full conference hit maximum capacity over a month before the event, and overall attendance surpassed the 3,000 mark. If we are to expand our capacity to allow more high schoolers, collegiate students, and professionals to attend in the future while simultaneously increasing the quality of our programming, your support is critical.
SASE Regional Conferences
The SASE regional conferences that take place across the country every spring allow a more focused environment for attendees and organizations to collaborate and grow with workshops, networking, and service learning. These conferences are always organized by the host collegiate chapter(s) - college students, putting together a professional conference for up to 1,000 attendees! It is an incredibly enriching experience for organizers and attendees alike; your contributions go a long way towards supporting our intrepid host chapters.
SASE is not all about professional and leadership development, it also involves community service and charity work. Every year, SASE collaborates with a local charity to promote service learning and awareness as well as to make a strong, vitalizing impact on the city it hosts its national conference in. When you register for and attend each SASE National Conference, look out for ways to participate in and contribute to our partner local charities.
