Now you have the chance to attend a National Conference and Career Fair specifically for Asian-heritage engineers and scientists! SASE’s 2012 event starts with a full day of workshops, career panels and keynote speakers. The second day features the Annual Career Fair. We expect between 50 and 60 high profile technical employers. SASE’s current organizational sponsors include P&G, Toyota, GE, Shell, ITW, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Michelin and Southern Company, among many others.

Full Conference Registration is sold out. Partial Conference Registrations are still available, on a limited basis.Partial Conference Registration DOES NOT INCLUDE MEALS OR THE GALA; however, it does allow access to all Friday workshops and panels, Friday evening Hospitality Suites, Friday evening comedienne, and Saturday’s Career Fair, which features over 50 recruiting organizations. COST: $25.00

Why should I attend SASE conference?

You should attend the SASE conference for three reasons:

Professional Development: The conference will feature a full day of workshops, panels and speakers all focused on the interests of Asian heritage students and professionals.

Career Opportunities and Jobs: The conference features a large number of employers who want to recruit and hire Asian heritage students and professionals.

Networking: Meet other Asian heritage students and professionals in a rich networking opportunity with a whole lot of fun.

What is the purpose of SASE conference?

The SASE conference is a once a year opportunity for Asian heritage students to come together for personal development and networking. It is also a chance for SASE members and conference attendees to speak with a large number of hiring employers, all at once. The conference is part of SASE’s mission, “helping prepare Asian heritage scientists and engineers for success in the global business world.”

What is the attire for SASE conference?

The Thursday evening Welcome Mixer and all Friday events are Business Casual. Business Professional attire is recommended for the Saturday Career Fair.

What should I bring?

You should bring a notepad and something to write with, since they may not be provided. Of course, several copies of your resume will be required.

What is there to do in Baltimore?

Most of the activities in Baltimore revolve around the Inner Harbor section. The conference location is in the heart of Inner harbor. http://baltimore.org/about-baltimore/inner-harbor/


How do I register for SASE conference?

The best way to register for the conference is at the SASE conference website, www.saseconnect.org/conference, following the prompts for “attendees”. You will also be able to register at the conference. However, we recommend registering in advance since the event may be sold out before September 30.

Why should I register now?

Interest in the SASE conference has been excellent. We anticipate selling out the conference, which means there will be some people who will only be able to go to the Career Fair. The best way to insure your spot at the conference is to register now.

How soon can I start registering for SASE conference?

Now! Go to the Pricing and Registration section of the Attendee Page and follow the prompts.

How do I join SASE?

You can become a member of SASE, by going to www.saseconnect.org and clicking the “Become a SASE member icon.” Membership is currently free. In addition, you may also join a SASE Chapter at your school.

Do you accept Purchase Orders? If so, what is the process?

Sorry, purchase orders are not accepted. SASE utilizes PayPal to process payments.

Has my registration been confirmed?

A confirmation email is sent once the registration is complete.

How many people have registered from my chapter?

Please contact your chapter’s officers for more information.

Will I receive my registration materials in the mail?

All the required registration/conference material is available online. No material will be delivered in the mail.

What is the refund policy?

100% refund for cancellations received on or before September 16, 2012. No refund for cancellations received after September 16, 2012 or No Shows.

What are alternate payment options?

SASE utilizes PayPal to process payments.


Who do I contact with lodging questions?

Where can I find information on lodging deposits, cancellation and where to mail payment?

All lodging matters must be handled with each respective hotel.


What conference transportation will be available?

There is no conference transportation plan. Please check the “Travel” tab up on top for further information.

What airports can I fly into, and how far are they from the conference venue?

The closest and most convenient airport is the Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI). It is approximately 15-20 minutes from the conference facility. Please refer to the “Travel” tab up top for more information.

Should I rent a car upon arrival?

That decision is up to you, but if the cost is shared, a rental car can provide convenience at a reasonable cost. Just be aware that some car rental companies have age requirements and sometimes charge extra for younger drivers.

What will the weather be like during SASE conference?

Baltimore weather is unpredictable! It could be quite warm, or quite cold. Average high is 76 and average low is 58 for Sept 30-Oct. Generally, this time of year ushers in very nice weather. Still, it is best to check the forecast a couple days before the beginning of the conference.
