Why should I use the SASE logo?

The short answer is "brand awareness." But what does brand awareness mean? Imagine one day, people who see just the beaker and flask (without any text) will immediately think of SASE and all of its associated benefits (profesionnalism, networking, leadership, etc). In order to make progress towards getting there, please use the SASE logo on all your materials and follow the guidelines. Doing so will help get our brand as universal as major companies (we can only dream) and ensures that we have a consistent branding image

Is it OK to type out "SASE" or "Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers" instead of using the official SASE logo?

No. If you are going to type out those words, make sure the logo is somewhere on the design. However, it is ok to type out that text if the logo is somewhere on the page (for instance, the title of a flyer can be "Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers" with the logo being in the middle of the pag). As mentioned in the previous question, the purpose of using the SASE logo is to help increase SASE's brand awareness. If you just type out "SASE" or "Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers" in any font or font size you'd like, then you are actually damaging our brand reputation (by not being consistent with everyone else!).

Do we need to have all SASE marketing material pre-approved by the marketing team?

No. However, this is strongly advised for material that is highly visible and requires large investments. For questions concerning usage and approval, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or your regional marketing representative (RMR).

How much artistic freedom is allowed when designing materials, such as shirts?

Ensure that the branding guidelines set forth are followed. Of special note, ensure that the logo is used when SASE is mentioned and to adhere to the buffer zone requirement. When in doubt, please contact your RMR.

How do I get the SASE primary colors if I don’t have Adobe products?

In many applications (powerpoint, word, etc), you can choose hex values or RGB values for colors (to find these, usually you select "More colors" when trying to change a color; from there, look for RGB sliders or hex options). SASE blue is PMS 660, #0668B3 (hex), and the RGB values are R: 6, G: 104, B: 179. SASE green is PMS379, #7DC242, and the RGB values are R: 125, G: 194, B:66.

Furthermore, if you have Powerpoint 2013+, you can use the eyedropper feature on any of the SASE logos to choose the right color.
